What Makes This Fish Special?

The Lineatus Fairy Wrasse is considered by many hobbyists to be the crown jewel of the fairy wrasse family. Mature males display a stunning blend of intense reds, yellows, blues, and purple highlights that create a constantly changing display of color as they move throughout the aquarium.

Their rarity, incredible coloration, and graceful swimming behavior have made them one of the most sought-after wrasses available.

When fully acclimated and thriving, males may intensify their coloration and perform spectacular flashing displays, making them a true showpiece fish.

Behavior & Husbandry

Lineatus Fairy Wrasses are active swimmers that spend much of their day cruising through the water column and exploring rockwork.

They are generally peaceful and do well in community reef aquariums with other non-aggressive tankmates. They can often be housed with other fairy and flasher wrasses when introduced properly.

Like all fairy wrasses, they do not bury in the sand but require a secure lid or screen top, as they are known jumpers.

They thrive in established aquariums with stable water quality, strong oxygenation, and plenty of open swimming space.

Carnivorous and generally easy to feed once conditioned.
