Reef Octopus BioChurn Biopellet reactor series take a new approach of efficiently fluidizing the biopellet media without blasting the media itself with direct flow pressure. The unique motion these innovative reactors produce allow for much greater suspension of the media in a cyclone "churn" style motion created with their patent pending churn plate. The Reef Octopus in-sump BioChurn Reactors come with an Aquatrance pump that feeds the reactor as well disperses the media into suspension. These models are ideal for those that want a simple reactor that is easy to use and maintain. The cascading design allow for greater surface area for bacteria to colonize while the delicate churn motion of the pellets allow for extended contact time between the nutrient rich aquarium water and the biopellet media.
