🟢 Quarantined (Minimum 2 Weeks) – Fully Conditioned & Eating

Quick Facts

  • Care Level: Moderate
  • Temperament: Peaceful
  • Reef Compatibility: Reef Safe
  • Minimum Tank Size: 30 gallons
  • Size: Ranging from approximately 3–4 inches at adult size

Behavior & Husbandry

Blue Dot Jawfish require a deep sand bed (3–4 inches) to construct and maintain their burrow. They will hover just above their burrow and quickly retreat when threatened.

They are sensitive to stress and require stable water conditions. A secure lid is critical, as they are known to jump, especially during acclimation.

Providing rubble or small shells will help them build and reinforce their burrow.

Feeding & Diet

Carnivorous and benefits from targeted feeding.

What We Feed at Lush Corals:

  • Frozen mysis shrimp
  • Enriched brine shrimp
  • Small pellets

In Your Aquarium:

  • Frozen mysis and brine
  • Small meaty foods
  • Target feeding recommended

Consistent feeding is important, especially during acclimation.

Compatibility Notes

Best with:

  • Peaceful reef fish
  • Gobies
  • Blennies

Avoid aggressive tankmates or fish that may disturb their burrow.
