Behavior & Husbandry

Exquisite Firefish are shy, hovering fish that prefer to stay near rockwork or a designated hiding area. They will retreat quickly when startled and benefit from calm, low-aggression environments.

Like other firefish, they are prone to jumping, making a secure lid essential. A well-structured aquascape with caves and overhangs will help reduce stress and encourage natural behavior.

Feeding & Diet

Carnivorous and benefits from consistent feeding.

What We Feed at Lush Corals:

• Frozen mysis shrimp
• Enriched brine shrimp
• Small pellets

In Your Aquarium:

• Frozen foods
• Small pellets
• Finely sized meaty foods

They do best with smaller, frequent feedings to maintain condition and coloration.

Compatibility Notes

Best suited for peaceful reef tanks with:

• Clownfish
• Gobies
• Blennies
• Wrasses

Avoid aggressive or highly active tankmates.
