Lemon Mimic Tang

A unique and eye-catching tang, the Lemon Mimic Tang is bright yellow as a juvenile, mimicking dwarf angelfish for protection in the wild. As it matures, it develops a more subdued coloration, making it an interesting species to observe over time.

Behavior & Husbandry

Lemon Mimic Tangs are active swimmers that require ample open space along with rockwork for grazing. They are generally peaceful but may show aggression toward other tangs, especially those with similar body shapes.

Their color transition from juvenile to adult adds long-term visual interest.

Herbivorous with constant grazing behavior.
