Red Sea ReefControl Power 8 USA Smart Power Center
The Red Sea ReefControl Power 8 USA is an eight-outlet smart power management center that brings Red Sea and third-party aquarium equipment into the ReefBeat ecosystem. Each connected device can be switched manually through ReefBeat, operated according to a daily schedule or controlled automatically by compatible ReefSense sensor readings.
ReefControl Power functions as an independent smart power center and does not require a ReefControl Lite or Pro for basic app-based outlet management. Users can monitor equipment status and live power consumption, create schedules and remotely switch individual outlets on or off.
When connected to a ReefControl Lite or Pro, ReefControl Power gains access to the readings from compatible ReefSense probes and sensors. Individual outlets can then respond automatically to temperature, ORP, leakage and other supported conditions.
Key Features
- Eight independently managed AC outlets
- Controls Red Sea and non-Red Sea equipment
- ReefBeat app connectivity
- Manual outlet switching from the ReefBeat dashboard
- Normally-on, normally-off, scheduled and sensor-controlled modes
- Up to 10 on/off periods per day for each outlet
- Live power-consumption monitoring
- Interactive 28-day power-use graphs
- Equipment status and malfunction notifications
- Automatic equipment shutoff protection
- Integrates equipment into ReefBeat feeding and maintenance routines
- Connects to ReefControl Lite or Pro for sensor-based automation
- Supports direct connection of a ReefSense Temperature Probe for standalone temperature control
Sensor-Controlled Applications
When paired with ReefControl Lite or Pro, ReefControl Power can automate connected equipment according to ReefSense readings. Possible applications include:
- Heater control based on minimum and maximum temperature settings
- Chiller backup protection
- Cooling-fan activation during elevated temperatures
- Ozonizer control according to ORP
- Emergency equipment shutdown when water is detected
- Lighting or pump shutdown during an overheating event
- Solenoid or auxiliary-equipment operation based on selected parameters
Standalone Temperature Control
A ReefSense Temperature Probe can be connected directly to ReefControl Power without using a ReefControl Lite or Pro. This allows the Power unit to manage a heater, chiller or cooling fan according to aquarium temperature.
A ReefControl Lite or Pro is required when using other ReefSense probe and sensor types for outlet automation.
ReefBeat Power Management
The ReefBeat app displays:
- Current status of every outlet
- Quick on/off controls
- Real-time power consumption
- Individual outlet operating modes
- Daily operating schedules
- Sensor-based switching conditions
- Interactive power-consumption graphs
- Equipment and temperature alerts
- Temperature history when a Temperature Probe is connected directly
