What Makes This Fish Special?
The Yellow Scopas Hybrid Tang is a naturally occurring hybrid that displays characteristics from two of the hobby's most recognizable tang species. Many specimens exhibit the bright yellow coloration of a Yellow Tang while retaining unique body markings, shading, or pattern influences from the Scopas Tang.
Because no two hybrids are exactly alike, each specimen possesses its own unique appearance and personality.
Like other members of the Zebrasoma family, these tangs are active swimmers and excellent algae grazers, making them both attractive and functional additions to reef aquariums.
Behavior & Husbandry
Yellow Scopas Hybrid Tangs spend much of their day actively swimming and grazing on rockwork throughout the aquarium. Their constant movement and vibrant coloration make them excellent centerpiece fish.
While generally peaceful toward unrelated fish species, they may display territorial behavior toward other tangs, particularly similarly shaped Zebrasoma species.
Providing ample swimming space, mature rockwork, and stable water quality will help promote long-term success.
